Butt breakouts aren't acne.
They're folliculitis.
And soap makes them worse.

It has nothing to do with hygiene. Here's what's actually causing it — and why the right products fix it in weeks.

Treats: Folliculitis

The Breakout Bundle is three products used in a specific sequence. A salicylic acid cleanser that gets inside the follicle. A clay mask that draws out what the cleanser loosens. Blemish sheet masks for active spots when you need targeted intervention.

Each product is formulated for body skin — not adapted from face care. Body skin is thicker, covered all day, and responds differently to actives. That's why face products don't work on this.

“Cleared my skin in 2 weeks. I shower every day and nothing worked until this.”

— Aini A., verified customer

Formulated for
Body skin — not face
This is for you if

Sound familiar?

You shower every day — sometimes twice — and still break out

Folliculitis isn't a hygiene problem. It's a skin physiology problem. Washing more with the wrong products makes it worse, not better.

You've avoided bikini bottoms, shorts, or anything fitted because of how your skin looks

It's not vanity. It's exhausting to plan your wardrobe around your skin. You shouldn't have to.

The bumps clear up, then come back within days of stopping

Because you're treating the surface, not the follicle. The moment you stop, the bacterial environment resets and the cycle starts again.

After the gym, your skin flares up no matter how quickly you shower

Sweat, friction, and synthetic fabric create the perfect bacterial environment. Speed isn't the issue — the products you're using after are.

You've been told it's 'just KP' — but KP products have never helped

Keratosis pilaris and folliculitis look similar but have completely different causes. KP products don't target bacteria. That's why they don't work.

The bumps leave dark marks that take months to fade

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation on body skin is incredibly common. Clearing the breakouts is step one — fading the evidence is step two.

You've spent hundreds on products that overpromised and underdelivered

Not because you made bad choices — because those products weren't designed for folliculitis. They were designed for acne. Wrong problem, wrong product.

"The comment we see on every post:
'Just wash yourself.'"

It's wrong. And it's why most people are treating this with the wrong products for years.

Folliculitis — which is what most booty breakouts actually are — is caused by bacteria getting trapped inside hair follicles. Not by poor hygiene. Regular soap raises your skin's pH, disrupts the acid mantle, and can actually make folliculitis worse by stripping the protective barrier that keeps bacteria out.

The people who struggle most with this are often the most hygiene-conscious. They're just using products designed for a completely different skin problem.

What you've been told.
What's actually true.

Myth

"Just use soap and wash more often."

Fact

Regular soap has a pH of 9–10, which disrupts the skin's acid mantle (pH 4.5–5.5). This strips the protective barrier and allows bacteria to proliferate — making folliculitis worse, not better. Body skin requires pH-balanced, salicylic acid formulations to treat the root cause.

Schmid-Wendtner MH & Korting HC (2006). Skin Pharmacology and Physiology, 19(6), 296–302.

Myth

"It's the same as face acne — use your face wash."

Fact

Butt breakouts are almost always folliculitis — inflammation of the hair follicle — not comedonal acne. Face washes are formulated for thinner facial skin at lower active concentrations. Body skin is 2–3× thicker and requires higher delivery concentrations to penetrate effectively. Face products don't reach the follicle on body skin.

Luelmo-Aguilar J & Santandreu MS (2004). American Journal of Clinical Dermatology, 5(5), 301–310.

Myth

"If you're breaking out down there, it means you're not clean."

Fact

Folliculitis is triggered by friction, heat, occlusion (tight clothing), sweat, and hormonal shifts — not hygiene. Athletes, gym-goers, and people who shower twice daily are among the most common sufferers. The cause is mechanical and hormonal, not hygiene-related.

Laureano A et al. (2012). Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia, 87(3), 432–441.

Why your face products
don't work down there.

Folliculitis is an infection of the hair follicle — bacteria (usually Staphylococcus or Malassezia) get trapped inside and cause inflammation. It looks like acne but it isn't. It responds to different actives, at different concentrations, delivered differently.

Salicylic acid is oil-soluble, which means it can penetrate inside the follicle to dissolve the blockage at the source. Lactic acid exfoliates the dead skin cells that trap bacteria. Kaolin clay physically draws out impurities. Together, they address the cause — not just the symptom.

Salicylic acid

is the only BHA that is oil-soluble — meaning it can penetrate inside the sebaceous follicle to dissolve blockages at the source. Water-soluble actives (including most face washes) cannot reach the follicle interior on body skin.

Arif T (2015). Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology, 8, 455–461.

Most customers notice their skin feels different within 1–2 weeks. Visible improvement in breakouts typically appears at weeks 3–4. Significant clearing is most pronounced at weeks 6–8 with consistent use. The first 2–3 weeks can involve a purging phase — this is normal and means the actives are working.
